What can you do?

The International Year of the Reef (IYOR) 2008 is open to any individual, organisation, government agency and non-governmental organisation that wish to be involved. The International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI) and its secretariat encourage a large involvement and welcomes active participation from all.

The ICRI Secretariat will provide overall direction for the IYOR 2008, but activities in each country are to be decided upon and organised at national and local levels.

Support and participate in IYOR 2008

  • Translate IYOR 2008 materials. Send them back to us so we can post them on the web site.
  • Register your interest in IYOR 2008. Make sure you don't miss out on the latest developments of the IYOR 2008. Be updated via email by subscribing to IYOR 2008 e-Updates. Register your interest.
  • Educate yourself and others about coral reef. Find out as much as possible about coral reef and tell your friends, family and colleagues about the IYOR 2008.
  • Organise IYOR 2008 Activities and Events. Consider organising an activity or event as part of the campaign. It could be as simple as putting up IYOR 2008 posters in your community (schools, libraries, etc.). If you need some ideas, click here.
