List of activities
CARESS will focus on the following:
- Spreading the word to other NGOs, Dive centres, Tourism and Private institutions
- Taking the Children's Perception of the environment concept forward. Education and awareness targeting schools in all the coral reef areas of India by joining hands with local NGOs.
- Awareness themes will be on promoting No take zones and MCPAs
- Developing teachers Toolkit for addressing topics on coral reef and related ecosystems.
- Organizing Teachers coral reef Orientation workshops at these sites followed by children.s activities
- Raising awareness of reefs amongst the local schools in Chennai by organizing different activities like films, quiz, poster competition and puppet shows.
- Taking SOCMON forward and preparing the SOCMON South Asia guidelines.
