IYOR Activities
- Arrange a Crown-of-thorn Starfish collection day to raise awareness and media attention around marine environment and related issues. Report
- Re-printing and updating a Coral Reef Booklet for teachers and children - in Kiswahili
- To design and produce a leaflet about "Dos and don'ts" for tourists on coral reefs which will be distributed all over Zanzibar
- Arrange and awareness raising workshop for fishermen focusing on destructive fishing methods, information from the Fisheries Act etc.
- Arrange a regional scientific meeting focusing on value of coral
- Arrange a coral reef drawing competition for schoolchildren all over Zanzibar and to produce a calendar with the 12 best drawings
- Produce an educational film about coral reefs, their value and threats to their existence
